bush of non-intelligence
president bush needs to spend a lot more time with his public speaking advisor. i just finished listening to his end of the year state of the union address (broadcasted from npr.org) and not only was his speech completely devoid of any real substance, just listening to the man speak makes my ears burn. he positions every sentence as if he had just been accused of something. his tone is harsh and his attitude is defensive. this retaliatory tone might have worked well in the presidential debates and initial iraq war briefings….but not for a state of the union broadcast at 9:30 in the morning. thankfully, we’re not going to war against another country or planning on adding a new color to the homeland security palette. i think the only thing he mandated was for the crawford, texas high school football team to win the 2-A state championship. good luck boys, you’re the president’s top priority!
by the way - it’s 15 degrees today in chicago. yesterday the thermometer dipped to 4 degrees! when it gets this cold in chicago, it feels like the wind is whipping against your bones while paralyzing each breath. i guess it’s time to buy some more firewood.
